In celebration of the Camp Western Event, Star Stable Online has finally revealed the new American Quarter Horse that will join the game permanently!

In their blog post, they shared the development process, noting the type of horse they wanted to create for the game:

“Our AQH is a working horse. Athletic, agile, and easy on the eyes. On the animation side, we included fan favourites like the sliding stop and the spin since they are a hallmark of the breed and would be a crime to leave out. We were also careful not to have the head carriage too low.”

This is the fourth-generation AQH, with the third released on April 20, 2026. Although the feedback for the model has been very positive, some players are frustrated. Those who bought the previous model still have to pay full price for the newest one, and this creates frustration for players who may have just purchased third Gen AGH.

In the blog post, they also announced they are removing the ‘beasts’ from the Camp Western Event. Since August of 2023, wolves and bears have been part of the festival, acting as enemies you needed to avoid or ward off with potions. Players found the wolves and bears frustrating to deal with, begging Star Stable to remove them, and now they finally have been.

There won’t be any beasts for Camp Western this year.

However, not everyone is happy with the change. Some feel that the wolves and bears offered a good challenge during the event. But it appears Star Stable has a different idea for the direction of the event. As per updates with Star Stable players feel split.
