A tiny 2D adventure is coming to our PCs sometime in 2026, and it’s promising to be filled with lots of mayhem and delight!
Developed by Super Stable Games, Blackboard Ponies was made during a game jam in 2025. The original, which can still be found on itch.io, had a simple premise: walk up to a blackboard, color in your chalk pony, and solve a simple puzzle. This reflects more or less the current features being planned for Blackboard Ponies on the Steam page:
• sweet and short experience
• between 1 and 3 playable pony characters (depending on funding and interest in the game)
• between 1 and 3 levels
• cute hand-drawn art style
• believable pony animations (befitting the art style)

The Steam page expands on the game, stating:
“Jump into the game, select a student, play as their fantasy pony and solve colorful puzzles. Steer the tiny rebels to break stuff and release colors. Use their powers to influence the real world and make the ponies’ humans happy (or at least happier).”
The only concern is that the game’s size is not so much small as minuscule; however, a small game can still pack a punch, especially when it’s this unique. 2D platformers are usually fun and can get pretty creative! It’s gratifying to see more horse games being made in this genre. Horse Runner DX and Hoofprints are two recent examples.
